I · DESIGN

Picture it clearly

We survey your garden, talk through how you cook and entertain, then present a tailored design with a transparent cost breakdown, with no surprises later.

II · BUILD

Crafted and raised

Your oak frame is cut and jointed by hand, then raised on site. We manage every trade, from groundworks and stone to joinery and appliances, all to one standard.

III · CARE

Yours for decades

We hand over with clear guidance on caring for the oak and your appliances, and we stay on hand for support in the years that follow, backed by a 5-year guarantee on our workmanship.

Why Oak

A frame that improves with age

Green oak has framed English buildings for centuries. It's strong, honest and weathers to a soft silver-grey: a structure that belongs in the landscape rather than sitting on it.

  • Traditional pegged mortise-and-tenon joinery
  • Natural slate or clay-tiled roofs
  • Granite and stone worktops on solid oak cabinetry
  • Appliances from the leading names in outdoor cooking, specified and fitted as part of the design
Our Pedigree

We build multi-million-pound barns for a living

Pavilion Co is the outdoor living arm of Blythcarr Property, the luxury barn-conversion developers founded by Lawrence Carr and George Blyth, building across Essex for clients who expect, and check, the very best. Your pavilion is raised by the same hands, finished by the same trades, and held to the same standard.

And because we build at that level, appliances from the leading names are specified, supplied and fitted as part of the design, handled so you don't have to.

Good questions

Before you ask

How much does an oak-framed outdoor kitchen cost?

Every build is priced openly at design stage, so you'll know the full cost before anything is ordered. Pavilions start from £50,000 and rise with size, design and specification, with larger projects reaching £150,000 and beyond. The brochure shows exactly what shapes your figure, the quickest way to see where yours might land. And unlike most spends at this level, a Pavilion stays with the house: a permanent structure that's there in the particulars when the property is next sold.

Do I need planning permission?

Most garden pavilions fall under permitted development, so usually no, but it depends on height, position and whether your property is listed or in a conservation area. We check this for you as part of the design stage, drawing on our planning background as property developers.

How long does it take?

Typically 10–15 weeks from first meeting to first fire, depending on size and specification. The oak frame is cut and jointed off-site while groundworks happen, which keeps time in your garden to a minimum.

Does the oak need looking after?

Very little. Green oak is naturally durable and weathers to a soft silver-grey over time: no painting or treating required. We hand over with simple care guidance for the frame and your appliances.
